Much vs. many, a little vs. a few
Read the following sentences and look at the use of 'much' and 'many'!
Tom: Hello Pete! How much time do you have?
Pete: Hi Tom! I'm sorry. I don't have much time, we have many problems in the office at the
moment and I have much work on my desk.
Tom: No problem. There are many small restaurants around here. Do you want to eat much?
Pete: Yes. I'm hungry. I'll eat many hamburgers today!

RULE: We use 'many' with concrete things we can _______________ (the so-called “countable nouns”) and we use much with the so-called _____________________ nouns, many of which are abstract terms.
When the meaning is clear, the antecedent after 'much/many' can be left out, for example: Do you want to eat much (food)?
